From July 16–18, 2025, students from St. Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School proudly represented our institution at the Science Exhibition Week held at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha. This dynamic event brought together innovators, researchers, students, and stakeholders to share and exchange transformative ideas shaping the future of science and technology in Tanzania and beyond.
Among the many creative projects presented, our students showcased a drone innovation project—a highlight that received enthusiastic appreciation from both the NM-AIST community and exhibition attendees. The presentation demonstrated not only technical skill but also the potential of young minds when given the tools and mentorship to explore advanced technologies.
The drone, developed and programmed by our science students, was designed with practical applications in mind, including environmental monitoring, agricultural surveys, and disaster response support. The clarity of the students’ explanation, the functionality of the design, and their confidence during the Q&A session impressed both university faculty and fellow exhibitors.
This experience was more than a display of innovation—it was a valuable opportunity for our students to engage with cutting-edge scientific thinking, connect with like-minded peers, and gain exposure to a university environment known for excellence in STEM education.
