NEW EDUCATION POLICY

The teachers and students are given awareness about the New Education Policy, according to which more emphasis will be given to education for self-reliance. Moving away from the academic-centred approach, students will be grappling with practical aspects of life in relation to science and technology. Education will be connected to the economic needs of the country and it will prepare citizens who will be able to add to the national income. It will also give importance to religious studies and moral formation. The government will first choose a few schools as pilot projects and later the program will be implemented in all schools. This is a good initiative from the part of the government to be in parallel with the educational standards of the advanced countries.

School Calendar

The academic year lasts from the Second Week of January to the Mid-November of the Calendar Year. The school has a 1st term break (June – July) and a summer vacation (December - January), the dates of which are announced during the respective academic year. First term: January to May Second term: July to November

MONTHLY EXAMS AND JOINT EXAMS

We have a tradition of conducting monthly examinations, the results of which is sent to the parents.
These exams help the students to be attentive all the time and focus on their studies. After the exams,
those who perform well are rewarded and those who fail to accomplish well are guided to improve. It
gives an opportunity to the teachers and the management of the school to keep a watch on the
academic progress of the students. They encourage those meritorious students and find new ways of
approaching the slow learners. It also gives a chance to the parents to keep track on the gradual
improvement of their children and establish dialogues with the management, teachers, and the
children. The school is also conducting joint exams with other prominent schools and also takes part
in the exams conducted by the diocese and other educational organizations.

The curriculum for Form I to IV is as prescribed by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania, Dar Es Salam. Apart from other mandatory subjects, the School offers courses in Science, Mathematics, Arts subjects, and Computers at the Secondary Ordinary level.
