The Graduation Day cum Family Day, held on the 20th of this month, was a memorable occasion that brought together students, parents, staff, and well-wishers in a spirit of thanksgiving and celebration. The day began with a solemn Holy Eucharistic Mass presided over by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza, retired Bishop of Mangalore, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his inspiring homily, he reminded the assembly of the importance of nurturing strong families rooted in values and faith. After the Mass, the program continued with an insightful address from Dr. Devotha, a lecturer at Nelson Mandela University, who spoke about the opportunities and challenges of the digital world, offering wisdom that resonated with both students and parents. The atmosphere then came alive with a vibrant cultural program, where students showcased their creativity and talents through music, dance, and drama, filling the day with joy and pride. The highlight of the event was the awarding of graduation certificates to the Form Four students, marking the successful completion of their academic journey and symbolizing new beginnings ahead. Blending spirituality, inspiration, and celebration, the day left a lasting impression on everyone present, making it a truly unforgettable experience for the entire school community.

The Patron of Our Digital Age: St. Carlo Acutis

At St. Joseph Boys, we recently marked a historic and joyful moment as we welcomed St. Carlo Acutis as our new patron. Known as the “saint of the digital age,” St. Carlo was a young man who used his love for technology to spread faith and devotion to the Eucharist. Born in 1991, he lived a simple yet extraordinary life, attending daily Mass, praying the rosary, and encouraging others to keep God at the center of their lives. Despite enjoying video games and the things every teenager loves, he showed remarkable discipline, limiting screen time so that he could focus on prayer and service to others. With his programming skills, he created a worldwide exhibition on Eucharistic miracles, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire millions today.

On September 7, 2025, St. Carlo was canonized in Rome by Pope Leo XIV, officially becoming the first millennial saint. To honor this special occasion, our school celebrated with a prayer service and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly built St. Carlo Acutis Prayer Hall....

Dear members of the St Joseph Boy’s Science Secondary School community,

It is with immense joy and pride that we extend our warmest congratulations to everyone associated with our esteemed institution for the outstanding academic accomplishments achieved by the Class of 2023. Last year, we set an ambitious goal of attaining Division I for all 82 Form Four students, a target that may have seemed challenging at the outset. However, through unwavering dedication and collective effort, our students not only met but surpassed this lofty objective, achieving remarkable success.

The exhilarating moment unfolded during the school Mass, presided over by our esteemed School Head, Fr. Victor Machado. As the results were announced, jubilation reverberated through the school, marking a milestone in our academic journey.

We are thrilled to share that St Joseph Boy’s Science Secondary School secured the 2nd position in the Kilimanjaro Region and an impressive 11th position nationwide. This achievement is especially significant as we celebrate the school's 10th-year anniversary, underscoring the consistent commitment to excellence that has defined our institution.

Our Boarding Facilities

We know that the students are away from their homes, and we strive to create a homely atmosphere in the boarding facility. The students are provided with all the necessary facilities to ensure their happiness and enable them to pursue their studies eagerly. We have spacious dormitories equipped with the required amenities for a comfortable stay. These dormitories are surrounded by trees, giving the blocks a garden-like appearance. The principle of "cleanliness is next to godliness" is diligently observed in the dormitories. The wardens are trained to be caring mentors, and measures are taken to prevent any misbehavior that could disrupt the students' joyful experiences on campus. The teachers also reside close to the students and are readily available whenever needed. A separate block is designated to store the students' belongings. They are taught to respect one another and safeguard each other's property.

Our School Manager

In Philippians Chapter 2:14-15, the apostle Paul urges the believers in St. Paul to refrain from complaining or arguing in their actions, aiming for a blameless and pure life. By doing so, they can stand out as children of God, untainted by the corruption of their surroundings, shining like bright stars in the vast expanse of the universe. This exhortation emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive and virtuous demeanor amidst challenges, thereby reflecting the light of God's presence and principles to the world around them.

Cultivating Knowledge and Sustainability

The integration of agriculture in our school brings forth a multitude of benefits for our students, our school, and our wider community. Firstly, it provides our students with invaluable hands-on learning experiences, actively involving them in the entire food production process—from seed to harvest. Through these experiences, our students develop a profound understanding of the origins of food and acquire essential skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and responsibility. Furthermore, our agricultural programs instill a deep sense of environmental awareness and sustainability, teaching our students the significance of soil health, water conservation, and the preservation of biodiversity. By incorporating locally grown produce, we enhance the nutritional quality of our school meals, fostering healthier eating habits. Additionally, agriculture in our school promotes a strong sense of community engagement and a meaningful connection with nature, nurturing values of stewardship and respect for the environment. Lastly, our agricultural initiatives serve as a source of inspiration for potential future careers in the agricultural industry, ensuring the ongoing preservation and advancement of this vital sector within our community.
