School Manager Reflections

St. Paul to the Philippians in Chapter 2:14-15 says: “ Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.”

Our Dream:
“Education is a journey, not a destination”. Keeping our school Motto: Building Competence & Character” and Vision: “Integral Transformation Through Education”. We have a dream at St. Joseph Boys’ Science Secondary School, to make our students “shine like stars in the universe”.

It is our Dream to see a Student with Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, Social and Moral Values, Personality Development, and Physical and Psychosocial capabilities, which are successfully attained through professional coaching.

It is our Dream and Commitment to enable the growth of global citizens – Individuals with self-confidence who are able to contribute to community life, building tolerance & accountability.

Teamwork:
At St. Joseph, we always believe “it takes teamwork to make the dream work”. In order to achieve this big dream we need a “big” team that enjoys the process by giving their best by leaving the result to the Lord to bless. “Great challenges require great teamwork”.

T – Together
E – Everyone
A – Accomplishes
M – Miracles

Optimum use of our School Campus & Infrastructure:
At St Joseph, the entire infrastructure is used at the optimum. The buildings and other assets we consider as a great resource for our community. In the weekends the classrooms are used for Youth, Children and Adults' spiritual formation, Leadership and Capacity building training programs and meetings, whenever there are major holidays the infrastructure is used to enhance the capacity of the local children boys and girls by organizing special coaching classes for those children who are enrolled at the Government Secondary in and around Kifaru Parish Mission.

Our Partners and Infrastructure:
We gratefully remember Stockholm Catholic Diocese of Sweden, Manos Unidas, Spain, Diocese of Mangalore and all those who are helping us in making our dream a reality. May God bless our prayer partners and well wishers!

St Joseph’s is just nine years old and we have spacious and well furnished 10 class rooms and conducive dormitories, well ventilated and hygienic kitchen, a very good bore well with 15 thousand liters overhead water tanks with 24 hours running tap water system, twenty for hours electricity with a standby generator, newly inaugurated “Mr. Paul and Mrs. Maud de Jong Memorial Science Laboratory Complex” with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and a Computer Lab with 20 Laptop computers.

Our 20 acres of sprawling school campus have a football ground, volleyball and basketball courts. We also have 17 qualified teachers (13 male and 4 female); 21 non teaching staff; 5 security guards along with six Catholic Missionary Priests, voluntarily serves as Headmaster, Spiritual Director, Warden, Assistant Warden and as Manager, manages the Education Mission of the Society of Mangalore Africa Mission under the aegis of the Catholic Diocese of Same. With the guidance of His Excellency Most Rev. Rogath Kimaryo, the Catholic Bishop of Same, of who’s invitation we are here to serve in his Diocese as Fidei Donum Missionaries from Mangalore. We are grateful and appreciate his consistent support, guidance and blessings.

Our Needs at the School Campus:
1. A well furnished Dormitory for 100 Students
2. A well-furnished Administrative Building
3. A well equipped Library and Reference room
4. A well-furnished multipurpose School Hall cum Dining Room
5. A well-equipped modern Kitchen
6. A well-planned Sports area for football, volleyball, and Basketball courts.

Conclusion:
Trusting in the providence of God we surrender our big dream at the feet of our Lord Jesus and master, with an ultimate aim of building the Nation and the World at large, where Peace and Harmony prevail.
